PROGRAMME BACKGROUND

According to United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNTO), China led the international outbound tourism in 2015 with the largest population (120 million) of overseas tourists and most money spent ($194 billion). Tourist Destinations have embarked on an aggressive drive to tap the Chinese market to boost foreign tourist arrivals. In this circumstance, the needs of talents who have good understanding of Chinese culture and hospitality and tourism industry become very urgent. In order to meet these needs, Shenyang Normal University (SNU) and Liaoning Talent International Cooperation Co., Ltd (TIC) co-found a Bachelor degree of International Hospitality Programme. This programme combines SNU academic expertise with TIC industry connections to provide you with an understanding of both Chinese culture and the operational, managerial and strategic issues in running successful hotel services. It will be particular suitable for you who want to build a career in hotel management in this trend. WHY SNU

Shenyang Normal University (SNU) is a comprehensive and principle university under the administration of the Liaoning Provincial Government, covering eight categories like philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering science and management science. It is renowned for its disciplinary construction and academic research.

The university’s was established in 1951, originally named the Northeast Education College. It occupies an area of 311 acre with building area of 763,600 square meters, and the library is home to 1.8 million volumes of books. There are approximately 22,000 full-time undergraduate and college students, 3,300 postgraduates, and 943 long-term and short-term international students. It has more than 20 departments that offer 74 majors. SNU has a reasonably structured high-quality faculty team. Of the 1500-odd faculty members and researchers, 278 ranks as professors and 641 as associate professors, who have made great contributions to the educational development of Northeastern China, in particular, Liaoning Province. There are also some outstanding experts and professionals who have made prominent contributions to their fields at national and provincial level. Some of them are very influential and well-known scholars with leading roles in their own academic fields. SNU hires many academicians from both CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and CAE (Chinese Academy of Engineering), domestic and foreign experts and scholars with influential attainments are also engaged as honorary professors and part-time professors, and more than 30 foreign teachers are engaged as well. The university has successively signed agreements on international academic exchange and cooperation with over 30 universities and colleges and scientific research institutions of 14 countries.

International Qualifications

Equivalent national qualifications for other countries, e.g. High School Graduation Diploma in India, etc.

English Language Requirements

All students from every nationality are required to prove their English language competence. Even native-speakers of English must demonstrate that they meet our minimum language requirements to gain entry to the University.

 

Application

Your application generally consists of eight elements:

1) A non-refundable application fee of RMB800. Your application will not be processed unless you have paid this fee.

2) A completed application form.

3) An official copy of Education Qualifications, eg: High school diploma(s) and grade list(s). Predicted grade is not accepted.

4) A study plan that why you would like to study at SNU. In your letter, you need to explain why you want to study hospitality management in China, on the basis of your interests and personal experience and how you would like to get the degree. (Not longer than 500 words)

5) Proof of English proficiency.

6) A photograph.

7) A photocopy of your passport.

Selection

The selection procedure takes place in two phases:

1) Your application is checked for completeness and then reviewed. Based on this review you may be invited for an interview.

2) Interviews are conducted by members of the school of Tourism and Hospitality, either in person or over the telephone / Skype. The interview focuses not only on your academic performance but also inquires into your personal interests, background and motivations. The interview is held in English and will therefore also serve to assess your English proficiency.

 

Visa Application

You have to apply X1 visa for studying China with a JW202 form and a school admission letter. X1 holders shall apply for a Temporary Residence Permit from the local Public Security Bureau (PSB) within 30 days upon entry into China. The temporary residence permit can be issued with validity of 180 days to 5 years.

You may submit the application to the consular office of the Chinese Embassies or Consulates in person. Mailed applications are not accepted and will be refused by most of Chinese embassies or consulates.

Processing Time:

The regular processing time is 4 working days. But Express Service is also available.
